Dear Parents and Friends of Las Sendas Elementary,
Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
The largest goal for the PTO this year is to make technology purchases, which will provide the necessary amount of computers needed in each classroom. The projected budget to complete this is approximately $30,000.
At last year’s auction, we were able to raise enough money to cover our costs that include a large number of programs throughout our school as well as completing the Projector Project. Some of the additional programs that receive their funding from the PTO are our Computer Lab Teacher ($9,500), a Brain Pop Jr. Subscription ($1,350), Suzuki ($4,500), Scholastic and Supplemental Literature subscriptions ($6,300) and Teacher Professional Development& Curriculum Mapping ($13,500). These alone add up to over $35,000, which our annual auction helps fund. The PTO also puts on fun events throughout the year that do not raise us any money, but in fact, end up costing us money as well.
Therefore, in an effort to raise additional funds for these specific technology necessities, we are asking for family donations to help us reach our goal. We know families do not enjoy student-based selling so we are taking the direct approach and hoping that each family will contribute $60 for each student or $100 as a family donation. We have raised $7,730 thus far for technology, so our remaining goal is $22,270. Please consider contributing to keep our school’s technology program up to date and available for all of our students.
Thank you again for your continued support!
Misty Hammer, PTO President and PTO Board
This year, Las Sendas is holding a Holiday Book Fair December 13th-15th. The Book Fair is a highly anticipated event at Las Sendas. Both parents and students alike love browsing the latest novels, picture books and non-fiction items for sale.
The Book Fair is an important part of our fundraising efforts, as the Media Center receives minimal funds from the school budget.
All proceeds from the Book Fair go directly back to our library to purchase new books and materials, making our Media Center the heart of Las Sendas.
If you would like to volunteer for this years event, please click here:
